Cleared to Fly is a reference tool for researching sport-pilot (post-MOSAIC) aircraft eligibility. We designed it to collect no personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
Your saved aircraft, watchlist, units, theme, and purchase entitlement are stored only on your device (and, for the Home Screen widget, in an on-device app group shared with the app). None of it is transmitted to us or anyone else.
The one-time unlock is processed by Apple's App Store via StoreKit. We never see your payment details — only whether your entitlement is active, evaluated on device.
"Notify when verified" runs locally on your device. We use the notification permission you grant solely to alert you when an aircraft you're watching gets confirmed data. We do not operate a server that pushes to you.
If you submit aircraft data through the in-app "Add data" feature, we receive the figures, the source you cite, and any evidence photo you attach. This is used only to verify aircraft eligibility data. Verified contributors are credited; you may ask us to remove a submission at any time.
We do not track you across apps or websites. There is no advertising identifier use and no third-party analytics.
Because nothing personal is stored off your device, deleting the app removes your data. For any request — including removal of a contributed submission — contact us.
Cleared to Fly is intended for pilots and aviation enthusiasts and is not directed at children.
